K-Taping® Pro Course

The K-Taping course for physiotherapists, occupational therapists, athletic therapists, doctors, kinesiologists, masage therapists and healthcare practitioners.
Theory: Basics principles of the K-Taping® therapy by Birgit Kumbrink and all the application techniques, combining the variety of application techniques for specific conditions and Cross- Taping.
Workshop: K-Taping® Academy applications for muscle, ligament, functional and fascial indications. Introduction to complex conditions as well as lymphatic techniques and Cross- Taping.

A refund (less a $200 cancellation fee) will be provided only if a notice of cancellation is received more than 14 days prior to the course date.
No refunds will be provided after 14 days prior to the course date. (NO EXCEPTIONS!)
Courses are subject to cancellation: if a minimum number of registrations are not received;
in the event of unavoidable acts of nature and/or weather; or due to instructor medical illness, injury or emergency.

9 - 11:30am - Taping/ wrapping with Lois Pohlod and Kim Lee Knight, certified Sport Physiotherapists
1 - 3:30pm - Sport massage with Mavis Wahl, certified Sport Massage Therapist
Taping will cover wrist, knee and other joints that are requested.
The massage workshop will cover these topics:
- indications, contraindications and precautions of massage in athletics
- Differentiate the physiological bases for pre-event and post-event massage
- Explain the mechanical, reflexive and psychological effects of common massage techniques used in sports.
- Demonstrate the types of massage including: effleurage, petrissage, tapotement, vibration and frictions.
- Demonstrate an appropriate and effective pre-event and post-event massage for a given sport, with emphasis on muscle groups, positioning, handling and sequence of techniques.

Sport First Responder Course Review, Calgary Winter Club
Have you ever been in a position to assist an unconscious mountain biker with spinal injuries, eviscerated abdominal contents and a compound fracture? This is just 1 scenario you might have to deal with in a Sport First Responder course.
The course covers Advanced First Aid, CPR, AED training, bandaging, and slings and splints of every type. In addition you will practice helmet removal, backboard transfers, application of hard collars and all within the sport environment.
This course is well worth taking -- a must for anyone working in the sporting world!!
